Notebook Entry ...Mist

The juxtaposition of mist and sunshine early one Winters morn. Weird but extremely beautiful.

Weather wise this was a strange phenomenon where the mist rolled in slowly through the valley from right to left in the very early morning a cold winters day. This was an unlooked for experience so I grabbed my camera and snapped away.

It was a strange ethereal experience standing at top edge at one side of the valley looking across to the other side with the valley itself below and the higher hills in the distance beyond.

The trees gave it a wispy like appearance down in valley itself as thinner tendrils of mist passed through them.

Parts of the scene kept vanishing then reappearing as the mist thickened then thinned out again as it kept moving along.

Looking beyond the valley itself to the farther hills the mist was thicker and more fog like. This fog appeared be starting to roll in to slowly cover the whole landscape.

Sure enough the sunshine soon disappeared and the scene became more sombre and the far distance more obscured.

As the mist really did become fog like and more and more of the scene was vanishing within it, it was time to move on before it all was covered over. By then we had had the best of it. Nature really never ceases to surprise and delight us unlooked for. Lesson: always have your camera with you wherever you go.
